Lenora Rose Chapman went home to be with her LORD on June 13, 2008 following a brief illness. She was born on October 30, 1932 in Live Oak, FL. In 1953, she married Fred Grady Chapman and soon settled in Clarkston, GA where they raised their three children. When Fred retired, they moved to Hartwell, GA where they have lived a blessed life together these last 18 years.
Lenora is survived not only by her husband, Grady, but also by her sister, Becky Lewis and her husband James of Jacksonville, FL and their daughter, Kristen Lewis. Also surviving is her son, James Chapman and wife, Donna of Snellville, GA and their children Bryan, Stacy, Jenny, and Jamey Chapman. Additionally surviving is her son, Fred Grady Chapman, Jr. and his wife, Carol Ann of Lilburn, GA and daughters, Anne Marie Schleier and husband, John, and Allison Parker. Her daughter, Necia Silvers and husband, Terry survive her along with childrenJason Kilpatrick of Madison, GA, Christi Kilpatrick of Jacksonville, FL, Nastia, Andrew, Anya, Sergey, and Katy, all of Florence, SC.All will sorely miss such a gracious and wonderful Christian lady.
Lenora was a woman who had the gift of encouraging others. She and her friends enjoyed Scrabble tournaments, Camp Mini-Pause of 29 years, and just gathering to renew old friendships. Her sister, children and grandchildren knew family was always first in her heart and in her life. The foundation of love they enjoyed growing up has been a most wonderful gift. Lenora was a precious wife to Grady. He will miss her smile, her morning coffee, and her sweet spirit.
Funeral arrangements have been made with Strickland's Funeral Home in Hartwell, GA.Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, June 15th, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.The service will be held at Strickland's Funeral Home in Hartwell at 11:00AM on Monday, June 16th. A graveside service will be held at Melwood Cemetery in Stone Mountain at 4:00PM that same day.
