Mr. Leslie Duane Peppers, 79, of 101 Bamboo Point, Hartwell, died peacefully Friday, June 21, 2013 at his home.

Born on September 2, 1933 in Elberton, GA, he was the son of the late Harvey Lee Peppers and Annie Lizzie Daniels Peppers.He was retired from the US Postal Service where he worked as a clerk in the Atlanta Post Office.Mr. Peppers was a member of the Hart County Golden K Kiwanis Club, the VFW in Hartwell and a Veteran of the US Navy.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Page Peppers of the home; two daughters: Laurie Delair and her husband Daniel, and Angie Sweat and her husband Ward, both of McDonough, GA; a son, Duane Peppers of Hartwell; special neighbors, Robert and Linda Ray of Hartwell; six grandchildren: David Delair, Dylan Delair, Waverly Sweat, Scarlet Sweat, Brianna Peppers and Mikayla Peppers also survive.Mr. Peppers was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be Sunday, June 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Ken Brewer officiating.

The body is at Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends Saturday, June 22, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.The family is at the home.
