Mrs. Lillie Ruth Holmes Morris, 91, of Morris Road, Hartwell, passed away Friday, June 17 at Athens Regional Medical Center.

Born on May 19, 1925 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Jessie Holmes and Beulah Phillips Holmes.Mrs. Morris was a retired seamstress for Bellcraft Manufacturing and Gip's Manufacturing.Mrs. Morris was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church. Mrs. Morris loved Quilting, working in her flower gardens and her family.

Survivors include her two sons: Marion Morris and his wife Donna, Bobby Morris and his wife Sharon all of Hartwell; eight grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her husband: Guy Morris; her parents; two daughters; one brother: Doc Holmes; and three sisters: Drucie Cobb, Mary Lou Bond, and Sallie Holmes.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 21, 2016, 4:00 pm at the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Thompson and Rev. Bruce Eavesofficiating.Burial will be in the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday evening.The family is at the home.
