Mrs. Linda Nell (Etheridge) Alewine, age 72 of Alto, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born February 14, 1947, in Stephens County, she was the daughter of the late Harry David Etheridge and Mary Nell (Sewell) Etheridge. She grew up in the Fairview Community and graduated from Franklin County High School with the Class of 1965. She was a homemaker and volunteer worker. She owned and operated Coffee, Tea, & Thee at Gwinnett Place Mall for several years. She was a past member of the Cornelia Garden Club and various other civic clubs. She was a member of Cornelia United Methodist Church, where she was active in the Methodist Women and other church groups.
She is survived by her husband: David Alewine; son & daughter-in-law: Stewart & Mary Kay Alewine; daughter & son-in-law: Deborah & Arthur "Buddy" Lippincott; sister: Diane Alaraj; and grandsons: Zachary Lippincott, Dean Lippincott, and Evan Alewine.
The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at the Cornelia United Methodist Church with Rev. Johnny Ray officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Methodist Church Cemetery in Lavonia. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Cornelia United Methodist Church, 275 Wyly Street, Cornelia, GA 30531 or to the charity of their choice.
