Mrs. Linda Ann Sumners Souders, 66, of Holland Street, Hartwell, died Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at her home.

Born on August 29, 1948 in San Antonio TX, she was the daughter of the late Winford Lee Sumners and Avis Annelle Spearman Sumners.Mrs. Souders was retired from the Fulton county School System, where she started her career as a teacher, then was the first white teacher to be promoted to be Principal of a predominately black elementary school in Fulton County as well as the youngest Principal at the time and retired as Personnel Director for the Elementary division.Mrs. Souders was a member of the East Cobb United Methodist Church, Marietta GA.

Survivors include her husband: Rev. Glenn N. Souders of the home; her sister: Chris Hilton & Tony of Hartwell; three nieces, a nephew and 9 great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Dean Kring officiating.
