Mr. Thomas Linder Brown, 83, of Fairview Avenue, Hartwell, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2023 at his home.

Born on June 5, 1940 in Elberton, GA, he was the son of the late Luther Q. Brown and Ruby Crawford Brown Sayer.  Mr. Brown was a tool & die operator for Anderson Machine & Tooling. Linder was a veteran of the US Army, served in the Army Reserves, and served in the Georgia Army National Guard. He was an ordained deacon, and a member of the Sardis Baptist Church where he was a member of the Pathfinders Sunday School class. He also participated in the Wednesday Night Supper Club with his friends. Linder was an avid golfer, and was a member and past president of the Hartwell Golf Club. He was also an avid fisherman, and was a member of the Lake Hartwell Bass Club. Linder was also a member of the Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge #690, and former member of the Lake Hartwell Shrine Club. Linder very much loved spending time with his four grandsons.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years: Betty J. Martin Brown; son: Stacy Brown & Jennifer of Hartwell; daughter: Sherry B. Winn & Brian of Elberton; and four grandsons: Tyler Winn & Kailey of Elberton, Tanner Winn of Athens, Landon Brown & Jessie Yeargin of Elberton, and Andrew Brown of Hartwell. Mr. Brown is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Joel & Gerald A. Brown.

The family will receive friends Monday, August 28, 2023 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at the home.

Funeral services for Mr. Linder Brown will be Monday, August 28, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Revs. Michael Kimberly and John Silver officiating.  Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
