Loomis Terrell Burdette, 89, died Thursday, September 5, 2019.
Born in Toccoa to the late Oliver L. Burdette and Lydia Bentley Burdette, Mr. Burdette served in the United States Army in Korea and Vietnam. After more than 20 years, he retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. He retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base and was a Mason. His family remembers his cooking skills and especially enjoyed his peanut butter milkshakes.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Rose Marie Burdette; daughters, Cherie Cummings (Darin), Wendy DeLoach (Randy), and Robin Grant (Tyrant) all of Fort Valley; grandchildren, Heather Cunrod (Kenneth) and Kenneth Tate Alexander of Warner Robins, Mariah Cummings of Fort Valley, Christopher Grinstead (Kayla) of Wiggins, Mississippi, Chance Grinstead of Roberta, Amber DeLoach of Valdosta, Brandi DeLoach of Warner Robins, Nickolas Grant, Dyllynn Grant, and Anastasia Grant, all of Knoxville, Tennessee; and great grandchildren, Jaina Cunrod, Emilia Cunrod, and Ryleigh Grinstead.
The graveside service with full military honors will be held 9:00 a.m. Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
