Mrs. Lorene Hill Brown, 96, of 1328 W. Main Street, Bowersville, passed away Friday, October 7, 2022 at Hartwell Health & Rehab.

Born on March 25, 1926 in Franklin County, GA, she was the widow of the late Harrison Brown, and daughter of the late Picken Carol Hill and Annie Lou Weaver Hill Garner. Mrs. Brown was retired from the textile industry, and was a member of the Lavonia Church of God.

She is survived by her son: Tony Floyd Brown and his wife Vonnie of Bowersville; daughters: Evelyn Jackson and husband Tom of Hartwell, and Lillian Roberts and husband Brad of Bowersville; six grandchildren: Chris Brown, Tonya Brown Boozer, Donna Jackson Brown, Ben Jackson, Andrew Roberts, Logan Roberts; and several great grandchildren. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister: Claudeen Bennett.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.  Other times the family will be at the home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lorene Brown will be held Monday, October 10, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Revs. Adam Tripp and Courtney Umbehant officiating.  Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
