Mrs. Louise (Vandiver) Allison, age 98, of Lavonia, died Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Young at Heart Personal Care Home.
Born January 10, 1918, in Martin, she was the daughter of the late William Enoch and Effie Ann (Thomas) Vandiver. She attended Hill Business College in Gainesville. Mrs. Allison was a Homemaker, Cake Decorator and Gardener. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church since she was 13 years old. She served in many areas of the church including 80 years as a Sunday School Teacher.
Mrs. Allison was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Thomas Autrey Allison; an infant son; and siblings: Lillian Loggins, Irene Humphrey, Winnie B. Chitwood, William Amos Vandiver and Enoch Junior Vandiver.
She is survived by daughters: Carol Zoglmann (Paul) and Martha Melton (Wayne); grandchildren: Megan Marett Lovett, Clark Anthony Marett, Dr. Roy Wayne Melton (Julie Bell) and Allison Elizabeth Ann Melton; and great granddaughter: Kristina Lovett.
The funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Josh Harvill, Dr. Billy Owensby, and Rev. Phillip Blinson officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Sunday beginning at 3:00 p.m. Flowers are optional or memorial donations may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church P.O. Box 393 Lavonia, GA 30553.
