Thelma Louise (Certain) Beatenbough, age 73, of Gumlog Road, Lavonia, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Northside Hospital in Forsyth County.
Born February 5, 1945, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late J. S. "Bo" and Janie Bell (Coker) Certain. She graduated from Pompano Beach High School. A retired textile worker, she was a loving mother and grandmother. After retirement she worked at Echo Restaurant. Ms. Beatenbough was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister: Peggy Certain; and a brother: Billy Lee Certain.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Lisa and Stoney Thomas; grandson: Harley Daniel Thomas; sisters: Shirley Gibson, Sandra DeLaCruz, and Barbara "P-Nut" Lancaster & her husband Tommy; brother: David Certain, & his wife Kathy; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia with Rev. Paul Creason and Rev. Leon Carson officiating. Burial will follow in Bowers Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Flowers are optional or memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
