Obituary

Ms. Mary Louise (Farmer) Bristow, age 75, of Lavonia, died Monday, October 20, 2008 at the home of her sister.
Born July 22, 1933, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Ola Grace (Adams) Farmer. She was retired from Franklin Hart Industries and Franklin County as a school bus driver. Ms. Bristow was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and the Whitworth Women's Club.
Survivors include her daughter: Vivian Whiting of Lavonia; son: John "Dennis" Maxwell of Lavonia; sisters: Sara Whitfield and Dene Farmer both of Lavonia; brother: Lalon Farmer of Lavonia; grandchildren: Jason Whiting, Natasha Whiting, Brandi Maxwell, Jennifer Maxwell, and Sara Whiting; 4 great grandchildren also survive. Ms. Bristow was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Walter C. Harris; sister: Diane McBroom; and brothers: Edwin Farmer and Lawrence Perry Farmer.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2008 from the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Revs. Jason DeFoor and Bruce Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens North.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Tuesday.
