Mrs. Martha Louise Temple Cordell, 81, of 138 Greenbriar Road, Hartwell, died Sunday, July 17, 2011 at AnMed Health Medical Center
Born on June 10, 1930 in Habersham County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Reece Cleveland Temple and Mary Frye Temple.She was a retired Wal-Mart greeter and manager of the men's department.Mrs. Cordell was also a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church where she formerly served as a Sunday School teacher.
She is survived by four daughters: Linda White of Hartwell, Gloria Johnson of Toccoa, Becky Milford of Hartwell, and Paula Dunahoe of Winder; one brother: Inman Temple of Hartwell; eleven grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren. Mrs. Cordell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Gaines Henry Cordell; and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Creek Baptist Church with Rev. James Sexton and Rev. Reginald Pressley officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.The family is at the home.
