Mrs. Louise Gaines Dean, 82, of Smith Street, Hartwell, passed away peacefully with her family by her side Friday, August 25, 2017 at her home.
Born on June 5, 1935 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the William Wesley Gaines and Lilly Jordan Gaines.Ms. Dean was a self-employed seamstress, a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and attended Cornerstone Baptist Church.
She is survived by her two children: Fran D. Harrison and her husband James and Mark E. Dean all of Hartwell; son-in-law: Dwane Bailey of Hartwell; two sisters: Lola Simpson of Toccoa and Kathryn Lamey of Atlanta; six grandchildren: Mycal Bailey, Bart Johnson, Ben Johnson, Beth Martin, John Harrison and Jasmine Harrison; ten great-grandchildren and a special friend: Dr. Sreeroop Sen.Ms. Dean was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter: Diane Bailey; four brothers: Wes Gaines, Clarence Gaines, Roy Gaines and Fletcher Gaines; two sisters: Ann Love and Monalee "Sal" Ivester and a special friend and companion: V. R. Rhodes.
Funeral services will be Monday, August 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Terry Meeks, Rev. Jason Webb and Rev. Jewell Gaines officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening.The family is at the home.
