Obituary
Mrs. Louise Frances McKern Jones, 71, of 74 Homestead Rd, Hartwell, died Friday, November 19 at her home.
Born on March 6, 1939 in Franklin Co. GA, she was the daughter of the late Loyed Washington McKern and Johnnie Mae Clark McKern.She was retired from Tenneco (Monroe Auto Equipment Co) with 43 years of service.She was a member of the Hartwell First Presbyterian Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for several years and was a member of the Emma Faith evening circle.She was a former Den Mother for Cub Scout Den 51.She was a member of the Red & Purple Jewel Society.She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and working out in her flower garden.
She survived by two children, a daughter, Tami J. Teasley and her husband Donald and a son, Todd McKern Jones and his wife Cindy all of Hartwell; two granddaughters, Angela T. Crowe and her husband David and Mecessa C. Jones all of Hartwell; two step-grandchildren, Steven Goldsmith and Amber G. Dutton and her husband Matthew all of Hartwell; two step-great grandchildren, Hunter and Brison Dutton both of Hartwell; a brother, Dewey McKern of Lavonia; three sisters, Janie Byrum and her husband Edward and Bobbie Gaines all of Hartwell and Polly Shirley and her husband Gary of Piedmont AL.She is also survived by a special friend, Terry Reid of Hartwell.Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, P. Talmadge Jones; a sister, Betty Carroll and two brothers, Loyed Washington McKern Jr. and Robert Warren McKern.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 22 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Stephen Nelms and Layman Randy Byrum officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday night.The family is at the home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hartwell Presbyterian Church Kitchen Fund, PO Box 1279, Hartwell GA 30643 or to the Nancy Hart Fire Department, c/o Jerry Byrum, 800 Chandler St, Hartwell GA 30643.
