Louise O. Vander Hoeven Mohor of Hartwell, Georgia, passed away at age 79 on December 4th after suffering from Alzheimer's since 2001.
Mrs. Mohor was a native of Newark, New Jersey. She is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, Arthur, daughters Alice Mohor, Bette Ann Harris, Carol Mohor, sons Paul Mohor, John Mohor, and daughter-in-law Amanda Gilstrap Mohor. She was predeceased by her brothers, Paul Vander Hoeven and John Vander Hoeven.Mrs. Mohor worked for the Clarke County Schools in the Barnett Shoals School library for over ten years. She was an active member of St. Gregory The Great Episcopal Church in Athens until retiring to Hartwell in 1997, where she was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.Mrs. Mohor was a joy and an inspiration to many. She had unselfishly requested that her body be sent to the Emory University Medical School.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 579 Fairview Avenue, Hartwell. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association at 1925 Century Blvd., Suite 10, Atlanta, GA 30345.
