Loving mother and friend, Ms. Louise (Johnston) Norris, age 67 of Lavonia, died Thursday, July 10 at her home.
She was born March 18, 1941 in Whitfield County, daughter of the late Samuel D. and Annie Mae (Parker) Johnston. She graduated from Dalton High School and retired from the U.S. Census Bureau as a senior field representative. She was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by daughter: Angela Dawne Norris of Lavonia; son: Ronald Coleman Norris, Jr. of Atlanta; grandchildren: Stacy and Christopher Norris; Nephew: Gene Quarles, Jr. and his wife, Brenda; great nieces: Jenise Prock and Jennifer Quarles; and great-nephew: Chip Quarles. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son: Joseph Samuel Norris; sister: Carolyn Jenise "Judy" Quarles; and brother: Joe Johnston.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2008 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Bielski officiating. Burial will follow in the Lavonia City – Burgess Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, July 11, 2008 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. There will also be a gathering, on Saturday, after the graveside at the Lavonia Community Center.
