Obituary
Mrs. Bertha Louise Walden Richburg, age 88 of 347 Ridge Rd., Hartwell GA, died Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born on December 3, 1919 in Opelika, AL, she was the daughter of the late N B Walden and Bertha Thrift Walden.She was a homemaker, member of the Bethany Baptist Church and the Joyful SS Class.
Survivors include four daughters: Barbara Spurlock and her husband Arthur of Lilburn, Sylvia Madden and Betty Madden both of Hartwell and Jenny Andrews of Molena GA; a half-brother: Alvin Pearson of Blackshear GA; five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren also survive.She was preceded in death by her husbands: John Lee "Johnny" Madden and Charles F. Richburg and three brothers: N B Walden, Virgil Walden and Lowell Pearson.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, May 13 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Britt Ginn officiating.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.The family is at the home.Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the Bethany Baptist Church, PO Box 396, Hartwell, GA30643.
