Mrs. Louise Vickery Tillman, age 93, of Lavonia, died Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Rainey Hospice House.
Born August 4, 1918, in Townville, SC, she was the daughter of the late James "Jim" Vickery and Lou Wade Durham. She was a machine operator for many years at Scotts Shirt Plant in Anderson, SC and Stone Manufacturing in Lavonia. Prior to retirement she worked in food preparation at Dills Food City. Mrs. Tillman was of the Jehovah's Witness faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Leroy Tillman; grandson: Kevin Edwards; four brothers; and one sister.
She is survived by daughters: Phyllis Alderman and Sandra Edwards; daughter and son-in-law: Vivian and Terry Richey; sisters: Faye Farmer and Blanche Alwine; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Mr. Bernie Normandin officiating. Mrs. Tillman's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Flowers are optional or donations may be made in Mrs. Tillman's name to Rainey Hospice House, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29625.
