Mrs. Lucia Martha (Gabriel) Stinson, age 82, of Lavonia, died Friday, January 9, 2015 at Emeritus at Anderson Place in Anderson, SC.
Born December 13, 1932 in Slickville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Ada Gabriel. After high school, she received her nursing degree and worked as a registered nurse at Phoebe Putney Hospital in Albany until her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Toccoa.
She is survived by her husband: Idus E. Stinson of Lavonia, GA; children: Buddy Stinson of Winston-Salem, NC, Rita Williams of Starr, SC, Susan Stinson of Albany, GA, and Daniel Stinson of Sharpsburg, GA; sister: Rita Tripoli of Washington, PA; and nine grandchildren.
It was Mrs. Stinson's wishes to be cremated. A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Toccoa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 231 Rothell Road Ext, Toccoa, GA 30577.
