Mrs. Lucille Inez (Mauldin) Ansley, age 81, of Lavonia, passed away Thursday morning July 12, 2018 at The Oaks at Scenic View in Baldwin.
Born October 27, 1936, in Franklin County, the daughter of the late John Mauldin, she was raised by her mother and step-father the late Ossie (Cotton) and Ammie D. Kay. She was a Class of 1955 graduate of Lavonia High School and was a homemaker. Mrs. Ansley was a member of the Lavonia Church of God. She was a faithful prayer partner to her friends.
In addition to her parents and step-father, she was preceded in death by her husband: James Ray Ansley; son: Keith Ray Ansley; son-in-law: Larry Greenway; sister: Annie Blanche Cole; and brothers: Christopher Segars and Hubert Segars.
She is survived by her daughter: Sharon (Ansley) Greenway; grandchildren: Jonathan & Stephanie Hill, Christopher & Shanna Hill, Ryan "Rudy" Hill, and Jason & Jo Ann Greenway; brothers: Doyle Kay and Aaron Kay; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephew, and many special friends.
The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2018 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia with Rev. Courtney Umbehant, Rev. Ben Lumley, and Rev. Mike Smith officiating. A private burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Lucille Ansley to the Sunlife Broadcasting Network (www.sonlife.tv).
