Mrs. Lucille Banister Holcomb, age 87 of Fidelia Eckerd Living Center, Highlands NC, a longtime resident of Hartwell, died Saturday, October 6, 2007 in Highlands NC.
Born July 14, 1920 in Hart County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Howard Banister and Drucilla Moorhead Banister.Mrs. Holcomb was the retired former owner and operator of the Savannah Valley Egg Company. She was also a member of the Hartwell First United Methodist Church, the Lilly Mae McCurry UMW and was a former Sojourner.
Survivors include three daughters: Dr. Brenda H. Manning of Highlands, NC, Judy H. Alford of Watkinsville, GA, and Kim H. Turner of Hartwell, GA; one brother: Dale Banister of Hartwell; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: James T. Holcomb and brother: Richard "Dickey" Banister.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 8, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. from the Hartwell First United Methodist Church with Dr. Allen Stewart officiating.Burial will follow in at Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held at the Hartwell First United Methodist Church from 10 to 11:00 a.m. prior the service.Memorials may be made to the Hartwell First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 200 East Howell Street Hartwell, GA 30643.The family will be at their respective homes.
