Obituary
Mrs. Lucy Virginia Bowen Howell, 79, of 120 Norman Rd, Hartwell, died Saturday, October 30 at her home.
Born on May 14, 1931 in Reading PA, she was the daughter of the late John Bowen and Anna Holdman Bowen.She was a retired seamstress from Gip's Manufacturing Company and a member of the Flat Shoals Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Carey Howell and his wife Barbara of Hartwell; two brothers, John Bowen Jr. and Al Bowen both of Reading PA; a sister, Barbara Trievel of Kent PA; four grandsons, Davin Howell and his wife Terri, Jamie Howell and his wife Janene and Bobby Howell and his wife Leanna all of Hartwell and Scott Ware and his wife Kathy of Tignall; eight great-grandchildren also survive.Mrs. Howell was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Columbus Howell and a brother, Robert Bowen.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 2 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Dale Carson officiating.Burial will be in the Memorial Garden of Prayer.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday night.The family is at the home of Bobby & Leanna Howell, 715 Old Hwy 29, Hartwell.
