Mrs. Lula Belle White Burden, 85, of Hartwell, passed away Friday, February 10, 2023 at her home.

Born on June 18, 1937 in Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late Judge Reese White and Arlie Maude Brown White. Mrs. Burden worked as a Benefits Eligibility supervisor for the Georgia Department of Family & Children Services, and was a member of the Hartwell First Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her husband: Thomas William "Tommy" Burden, Sr; son: Thomas W. Burden, Jr. of Braselton; daughter: Beth Burden Kay (Doug) of Hartwell; eight grandchildren: Jonathan & Malorie Burden, and Silas, Piper, Trinity, Hubble, Judge, and Levi Kay; two great grandchildren: Ellis & Rosemary Burden; and a sister: Gatha Harvey of Springville, AL. Mrs. Burden was preceded in death by her parents; and seven siblings: Gartrell White, Bonnie Sue Hulsey, Ella Ruth Mead, John Tom White, Walter White, William White, and Janie Maret.

It was Mrs. Lula Belle's wishes to be cremated and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held Sunday, February 19, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hartwell First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ted Worley officiating. A reception will follow the service. At other times, the family will be at the home.
