Lynn Cheek Baker

Mrs. Victoria Lynn Cheek Baker, 63, of Canon, passed away Monday, August 3, 2026 at St. Mary’s Sacred Heart Hospital in Lavonia.

Born one June 25, 1963, in Royston, GA, she was the daughter of Elaine Hart Cheek and the late Edwin Berlon Cheek. Mrs. Baker was a loan officer for Synovus Bank in Hartwell, and was of the Baptist faith. She was also a member of the Pilot Club of Hartwell where she was a former president. Lynn loved planting flowers, thrift store shopping, and being a loving Mamie to Branch.

Survivors include her mother: Elaine Cheek of Canon; husband: Richard Anthony Baker of Canon; son: Daniel Baker (Savanna) of Hartwell; daughter: Elaina Baker of Bowersville; three brothers: Tim Cheek of Anderson, SC, Keith Cheek (Corene) of Hartwell, Chad Cheek (Gail) of Canon; and one grandchild: Branch Baker. Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her father: Edwin Cheek.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. At other times, the family will be at the home of Mrs. Baker’s mother on Hwy. 17 in Bowersville.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Lynn Baker will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Luther Thomason officiating. Burial will be held in the Oak View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pilot Club of Hartwell, P.O. Box 1284, Hartwell, GA 30643.
