Lynne Reed Burden, 52, was surrounded by family when she went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 6, 2017, after a long battle with cancer. Mrs. Burden was born in Hartwell, the daughter of Eula Brown Eskew and the late Thomas Malory "Tommy" Reed.

Mrs. Burden was a wife, sister, & best friend, however her greatest job was being a mother. In her early years she worked at Hartwell Company and Franklin County Health Dept. While working at Hart EMC, she furthered her education to earn her degree in Computer Technology at Tri County Tech where she was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Mrs. Burden was also Materials Manager at American Woodmark Corporation. After moving with her Husband to Braselton, GA she worked at Northeast Georgia Medical Center as a PST Receptionist. She was also a member at 12 Stone Church.

Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Thomas Burden Jr.; son and daughter-in-law Jonathan and Layla Burden; daughter, Malorie Burden; sisters, Leesa Yates (Greg), Stephanie Reed, and Stacey Lewis; and loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of long-time friends.

A visitation will be held from 12 noon to 2 pm with a Memorial Service following on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev.
