Obituary

Mr. Milton Lafayette "M. L." Roling, age 80, of Ridgeview Road – Lavonia, died Thursday, August 14 at his home.
Born February 24, 1928, in Madison County, he was the son of the late Theo B. and Lizzie (Rhinehart) Roling. He was a sheetrock contractor for many years and retired from the Hart County Sheriff's Department. He was a US Army veteran and a member of the Bowersville Masonic Lodge # 595. Mr. Roling was a member of the Lavonia Church of God.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife: Margie (Sheriff) Roling; son: Ricky Roling; daughter: Joyce Roling; brother: Rev. Talmadge Roling; and sisters: Doris Owens and Mary Alice Norton.
He is survived by wife: Mildred (Brown) Roling; son and daughter-in-law: Keith & Suzy Roling of Lavonia; daughter: Debra Walker of Lavonia; step-daughters: Joni Fulbright of Toccoa and Debbie Atkins of Anderson, SC; sister: Sarah Hudgins; grandchildren: Dustin Walker, Trent Roling, Blake Fulbright, Chase Fulbright, and Chelsea Atkins; and great-grandchild: Easton Walker.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 15, 2008 at the Lavonia Church of God with Rev. Tyrone Hutchinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Lavonia City Cemetery with Rev. Darvin Slaton officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 2:00 p.m. until the service hour.
