Macon "Spud" Mullinax

Mr. Macon E. "Spud" Mullinax, age 84, of Lavonia, died Thursday, April 2, 2015 at AnMed Health.
Born September 9, 1930, in Lavonia, he was the son of the late Claude Thomas and Clara Lee (Hill) Mullinax. He was a mechanic for Milliken and was a US Army Veteran. Mr. Mullinax was a member of Lavonia Moose Lodge # 352 and was a member of Faith Community Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother: Luther Ben "Speedy" Mullinax; and sister: Reba Sue Sosby.
He is survived by his wife: Janie (McCoy) Mullinax; sons: Tim Pysell and Russ Pysell; daughter: Rhonda Mullinax; and grandchildren: Mason Pysell, Lindsey Pysell & Carlyn Pysell.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2015 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Josh Harvill & Rev. Tommy Carver officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m. and concluding with a special memorial from Lavonia Moose Lodge. Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to the Lavonia Moose Lodge # 352, 295 Joe Harvey Street Lavonia, GA 30553.
