Margaret Ellen "Maggie" Patterson, 46, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024 at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens, Georgia.

Maggie was born May 23, 1978, in Athens GA. She grew up in Hartwell, Georgia, the daughter of Glorianne Smith Patterson and the late R.H. Patterson. She graduated from Hart County High School in 1996. After high school she attended Anderson University before transferring to the University of Georgia where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences, Child and Family Development.  Maggie previously attended Impact Church in Hartwell.

Maggie was a bright light to all who knew her. She had a heart of gold and was generous to a fault. She had a gift for making friends with everyone she met. She loved the Georgia Bulldogs, the beach, the band Shinedown, and all things Johnny Depp. But her greatest love was for her son, Henry. Her light will shine on through him and in our memories, with a kind word, a big smile, a hug, a surprise gift at your doorstep, comfy Georgia sweatshirts, messy cars, long naps, and I love you's at the end of every call. She was so loved and will be missed beyond words. You stole our heart, but we love you anyway, Maggie May. We will see you again one day.

Maggie is survived by her mother: Glorianne Patterson; her son: Henry Patterson both of Hartwell; her sister: Sara Page Dietz (David) and her nephew: Luke all of Cincinnati, Ohio and numerous friends.

A memorial service celebrating Maggie's life will be held Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of the St. Andrews Episcopal Church.  A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall.
