Malinda Vickery Welborn, age 83, of Lavonia, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2023 at the home of her daughter.

She was born October 24, 1940, in Lavonia, the daughter of the late James "Tye" and Sara Nell Floyd Vickery. She graduated from Hart County High School retired from the Lavonia Housing Authority. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Lavonia.

She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law: Gina & Joseph Weaver; grandchildren: Lauren & Boone Weaver; brother: Billy Vickery; brother-in-law: Truman Burgess; and several other family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Darby Gene Welborn; grandson: Tyrus Weaver; sister: Gale Burgess; and sister-in-law: Janice Vickery.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. John Forbes and Rev. Luther Thomason officiating. Burial will follow in the Lavonia City – Burgess Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the service.
