Mrs. Margaret Cole Basinger, age 90, of Royston, died Saturday, May 3 at Brown Memorial Convalescent Center.
A native of Columbus, MS, she was born April 19, 1918, the daughter of the late William & Clara Burton Cole. She was a homemaker and of the Church of God faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: James Basinger; daughter: Linda B. Moon; brother: Cedric Cole; and great-granddaughter: Caroline Brown.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law: Jim & Betty Basinger of Lavonia; son-in-law: James Moon of Greenville, SC; sisters: Catherine Proctor of Memphis, TN and Blanche Greggs of Columbus, MS; brother: Russell Cole of Brownsville, TX; grandchildren: Beth Brown of Lawrenceville, Julie Barnard of Greenville, SC, Marty Moon of Fort Myers, FL, and Sara Adams of Simpsonville, SC; and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2008 at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville, SC with Rev. Richard Bielski officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
