Obituary
Mrs. Margaret Ginn Payne Cordell, 90, of Liberty Hill Road, Hartwell, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born on May 30, 1925 in Bowersville GA, she was the daughter of the late Jim Thomas Ginn and Fannie Sue Bowen Ginn.Mrs. Cordell retired from the Hart County School System, where she was a lunchroom worker at Airline Elementary School.She was also a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church and a former Sunday School teacher.
Survivors include her son: Joel T. Ginn of Riverdale GA; a sister: Gloria Alewine of Belton SC; five grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.Mrs. Cordell was twice married, first to the late Ralph Payne and second to the late Clay "Buster" Cordell.She is also preceded in death by a son: Carl Payne; three sisters: Imogene Campbell, Mattie Pearl Thompson and Thelma Ruth Thompson and three brothers: James Ginn, Lloyd Ginn and Bill Ginn.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. David Wilson officiating.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cross Roads Baptist Church Building Fund, 3636 Lavonia Hwy, Hartwell, GA 30643.
