Mrs. Margaret Burns Craft, 90 of Hartwell, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Hart Care Center.
Born on March 2, 1935 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late George Burns and Mary Bowers Burns. Mrs. Craft was a retired Parapro for the Hart County School System, where she taught at the Middle School and a lifelong member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. She also loved her family and taking care of people.
Survivors include one daughter: Doris Fields (Doug) of Cumming; one son: William Craft (Tammy) of Canon; four grandchildren: Mark Fields (Kelly), Marla Hatfield (Steven), Kinsey Craft (Stephanie) and Daniel Craft; thirteen great-grandchildren and a sister: Mary B. Montgomery of Starr SC also survives. Mrs. Craft was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: John "Pete" Craft and one brother: Jimmy Burns.
The family will receive friends Sunday, March 16, 2025 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at their respective homes.
Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Craft will be Monday, March 17, 2025 at 2:00 in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Matt Law officiating. Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
Flowers are optional, and memorials may be made to the Family Hospice Foundation, 624 S. Milledge Ave, Suite 101, Athens, GA 30605.
The family would like to express their love and appreciation to the staffs of The Gables of Royston, Hart Care Center and Family Hospice for the care they provided to Mrs. Margaret.
