Mrs. Margaret Ann (Owen) Elrod, 86, of Lavonia, passed away Monday, August 19, 2019 at The Veranda in Carnesville.
Born July 28, 1933 in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late L.T. and Ruby (Harris) Owen. Mrs. Elrod retired as a loan officer with SunTrust Bank. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Lavonia, where she worked with the AWANA program, and was a member of the L.I.F.T. Ladies Group, the Gleaners Sunday School Class, and the church choir.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Eric Jasper Elrod; grandson: Ryan Roberts; and brother: L.T. Owen.
She is survived by son & daughter-in-law: Tim & Kathy Elrod of Martin; daughter & son-in-law: Teresa & Reggie Anderson; grandsons: Justin Roberts, Matthew Roberts, and Jason Elrod; brother: Roger Owen; and several great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. John Forbes officiating. A private burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until the service. At other hours the family will be at the home of Tim & Kathy Elrod.
