Mrs. Margaret (Isbell) Reed, 90, of the Shoal Creek Community in Lavonia, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens.
Born January 23, 1928 in Hart County, she was the daughter of the late Norris O. and Mattie Sue (Malone) Isbell. She worked as a seamstress at Carwood. She grew up in Crossroads Baptist Church and after her marriage she joined Providence United Methodist Church with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband: John Rayford Reed; sons: John Michael Reed and Bobby Ray Reed; daughter: Teresa Lynn Reed; brothers: Robert, Wallace, Walter, Wyatt, Billy and Doyle Isbell; sisters: Ellen Teat, Louise Ethridge, Lois McGee and Kathryn Williford.
She is survived by her brother: Hugh Isbell of Anderson and her nieces & nephews.
The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Providence United Methodist Church with Pastor Dick Huycke and Rev. Doug Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
