Ms. Margie Ruth Alewine Haskins, 91, of Chandlers Ferry Road, Hartwell, passed away Monday, September 25, 2023 at her home.
Born on October 25, 1931 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Roy Jasper Alewine Sr. and Annie Sue Shellnut Alewine. Ms. Haskins was a retired CNA with Brown Health and Rehabilitation and of the Baptist faith. She loved outdoors and gardening.
Survivors include a son: Billy Keith Kelley and a daughter: Cathy Ann Haney both of Hartwell; four grandchildren: Tammy Haney, Tracy Mercier, Angie Haney and Shane Kelley; seven great-grandchildren; nine great great-grandchildren and numerous step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren and step great great-grandchildren also survive. Ms. Haskins is preceded in death by her parents; six brothers: Charles A. Alewine, Roy J. Alewine Jr, Roger D. Alewine, Marion Joel Alewine, Danny C. Alewine, Jerry Alewine; two sisters: Betty J. Evans and Elsie M. Campbell
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at the home.
Funeral services for Ms. Margie Haskins will be Friday, September 29, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Roland Molina officiating. Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
