Mrs. Marie Vickery Fleming, 83, of 86 Gilmer St., Lavonia, died Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at Cobb Memorial Hospital.
Born on November 19, 1923 in Hart Co. GA, she was the daughter of the late Waymon Jackson Vickery and Madge Welborn Vickery.She formerly employed at Carwood Mfg. Co. and Elrod's Drug Store.She was a former member of the Lavonia Pilot Club and a member of the Lavonia First Baptist Church, Faith SS Class and morning senior group.
Survivors include two sons: Larry Fleming and his wife Janice and Dan Fleming and his wife Linda all of Sandy Cross; a daughter-in-law: Phyllis Fleming of Lavonia; two sisters: Hazel Ayers of Hartwell and Myrelle Morrison of Douglasville; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband: James C. Fleming; a son: Mac Fleming and by several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 28 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lavonia Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home with Dr. Larry Finger and Rev. Richard Bielski officiating.Entombment will follow at Nancy Hart Memorial Park, Hartwell.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Lavonia Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday night.The family is at their respective homes.Memorials may be made to the Lavonia First Baptist Church Building Fund, 95 Bowman St., Lavonia, GA30553
