Mrs. Marie Chastain McCurley, 91, of Cunningham Drive, Hartwell, died Saturday, April 27 at Hartwell Health Care Center.


Born on December 1, 1921 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Clifford Chastain and Roxie Hubbard Chastain.She retired from Tenneco Auto Equipment, where she was an assembly line worker and was a member of the Cedar Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Bonnie Hill and her husband William and Doris Skelton and her husband Wayne all of Hartwell; a son, Barry McCurley and his wife Joyce of Hartwell; a sister, Nina Lee C. McCurley of Norcross; nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren also survive.Mrs. McCurley was preceded in death by her husband Edgar Benton McCurley Jr. and three sisters, Bertha Mae Gaines, Ruby Herring and Sarah White.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 30 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Gary Willett and Rev. Joe Black officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park with Rev. Tommy Cleveland officiating.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday night.The family is at their homes.Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the Charity of One's Choice.
