Mr. Mark Steven Carter, age 47, of Lavonia, died Sunday, July 24, 2011 at his home.
Born September 29, 1963, in Royston, GA, he was the son of the late Loyd Whitey Carter and Helen Fortescue. Mr. Carter worked at AutoZone Distribution Center of Lavonia, and volunteered as a cook at the Lavonia Moose Lodge, Angel Food Ministries, and the Senior Citizen Food Box.He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife: Sheila Carter of the home; children: Steven Carter and Eric Carter; step-children: Allison Bacon and Michael Doker; mother-in-law: Reba Sosby; brothers: Alvin Carter and Larry Carter; sisters: Kathy McAvoy and Donna Henderson.Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Fairview Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Moore and Rev. Paul Jameson. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia where the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.The family is at the home.Flowers are optional and special memorials can be made to the Fairview Baptist Church, Highway 59, Lavonia, GA 30553.
