Mark Gerald Pickren, age 71, of Gillsville, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

Born June 17, 1951, in Atlanta, he was the son of the late Alva Henry Pickren, Jr. and Marion Kathryn Carter Pickren. He worked as a trainer for Mingledorff's HVAC, where he served for more than thirty years. He was a member of Free Chapel Worship Center in Gainesville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother: Colin Pickren and sister: Pamela Bartlett.

He is survived by wife Sandra Miller Pickren; sons & daughters-in-law: Paul & Laura Pickren and Stephen & Nancy Pickren; sister: Carole Pierce; and grandchildren: Victoria Pickren, Aeiden Pickren and Alexis Pickren.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia with Rev. Dwayne Wilbert officiating. Burial will follow in Stephens Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday beginning at 12:00 p.m.  Flowers are optional or memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
