Marlene Mouchet Sheriff, age 83, of Bowersville, passed away Monday, April 22, 2024 at White Oak Manor in York, SC.
She was born April 30, 1940, in Hart County, the daughter of the late Charlie Lindsey and Flossie Reed Mouchet. She retired from Northeast Georgia Bank after 37 years of service as Teller Supervisor. After retirement, she worked with Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia as a visitation attendant for several years. Mrs. Sheriff was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church for many years, where she formally served as Sunday School Teacher, WMU Director, and as a Choir Member. Most recently she was a member of First Baptist Lavonia and was an active member of the JOY Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her husband: Howard Allen Sheriff; daughters & sons-in-law: Donna & Jerry Jackson of Bowersville and Danette & Barry Duncan of Rock Hill, SC; grandchildren: Elizabeth Jackson Howard (Zach), Nathan Jackson, Charlie Duncan (Chloe) and Chelsie Duncan; and great grandson, Quay.
The funeral services will be held Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 2:00p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens. The JOY Sunday School Class will serve as honorary escort. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until the service.
