Mr. Marshall William Blalock, 57, of 356 Union Hill School Road, Canon, died October 1, 2013 at Ty Cobb Regional Medical Center in Lavonia, GA.

Born on September 18, 1956 in Marietta, GA, he is the son of Audrey Davis Blalock of Powder Springs, GA and the late Marvin William Blalock.Mr. Blalock was of the Baptist Faith and was a US Air Force Veteran having served in the Vietnam War.

In addition to his mother, survivors include a step-son, Daniel Whalen of Alpharetta; a step-daughter, Anna Whalen of New York, NY; a brother, Jeffrey Blalock of Cartersville; and three sisters: Wanda Grogan of Powder Springs, Rita Moore of Canon, and Wilma Luger of Milwaukee, WI.Mr. Blalock was preceded in death his father, Marvin William Blalock.

Memorial services will be Sunday, October 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. just prior to the service. The family is at the home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to defray medical and funeral expenses.
