Mr. James Marshall Bryant, age 58, of 3159 Shoal Creek Road – Lavonia, died Monday, December 18, 2006 at his home.
Born February 29, 1948, in Franklin County, he was a son of the late James M. Bryant and Mary Elizabeth LeCroy Bryant. He was a row farmer and chicken farmer and received the Hart County Farm Bureau Millard R. Seaton award. He was a Vietnam War veteran, serving in the United States Army. He was a member of the Providence United Methodist Church.
Survivors include wife: Betty Jean Isbell Bryant of the home; two sisters: Evelyn Akin of Martin and Faye Segars and her husband Joe also of Martin; a brother-in-law: Aaron Isbell of Lavonia; several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews also survive.He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law: Dean Akin.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 20 at 11:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia with Rev. Doug Brown, Rev. Dr. Sheila Bookout and Ms. Vonnie Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home – Lavonia Chapel, where the family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Flowers are optional, memorials may be made to the Providence United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2395 Providence Church Road, Lavonia, GA 30553. The family will be at the home.
