Mrs. Martha Annette (Davis) King, age 74, of Carnesville, died Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at her home.
Born May 26, 1940, in Tucker GA, she was the daughter of the late William Walter Davis and Myrtice Alma Davis. She was a retired school bus driver with DeKalb County Schools and a member of Lighthouse Worship Center.
She is survived by her husband: Cecil J. King of Carnesville; daughter: Wanda Thomas; sons and daughters-in-law: Paul and Donna Mincey and Chris and Elizabeth King; brothers: Harold Davis and Walters Davis; sister: Lucy Yarger; grandchildren: Dustin Mincey, Dylan Mincey, Cecile Thomas, Kristy Hodges, Hunter King, Anna King, and Lily King; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Frances Dixon and Margie Slavin.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2015 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Leonard Young, Rev. Randy Pointer, and Rev. Leon Carson officiating. Burial will follow in Lavonia City – Burgess Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other hours the family will be at the home.
