Martha Emily Reynolds Landen, age 86, of Lavonia, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

She was born January 3, 1937, in Wilmington, DE, daughter of the late William and Susan Hands Reynolds. She was a member of the first graduating class of Nurse Practioners at Emory University during a career that spanned more than fifty years. She helped to found clinics in Commerce and Homer that have gone on to become thriving practices. She later worked at AnMed Health and Hartwell Medicine. She was a dedicated member of the Lavonia First Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday School and Bible Study teacher. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of the many people that she impacted.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years: William Oscar "W.O." Landen, Jr.; daughter: Tammy Landen Rutherford (Bob); son: William Edwin "Ted" Landen (Leslie); grandchildren: Bradley Rutherford (Ana), Landen Norman (Kendarius), Jake Landen (McKinley), Ethan Landen, and Cooper Landen; and great-grandchildren: Kynley Pulliam, Charlie Jane Rutherford, and Harper Emily Rutherford.
