Mrs. Martha Fleming O'Barr, age 86 of 529 North Forest Avenue, Hartwell, Ga., died Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Hartwell Health Care Center.

Born in Hart County, she was the daughter of the late J.G. Fleming and Ann McLane Fleming. She retired from Newton Mills with 31 years of service as a lab technician. Mrs. O'Barr was a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church where she taught the Fidelis Class for 60 years and was a member of the WMU. She was a member and former officer of Forever Young and attended FCS at Hartwell First Baptist Church and was on the Hospital Auxiliary of Hart County Hospital for a number of years. She loved to travel and work in her garden.

She is survived by: Nieces, Peggy Anderson of Anderson, SC and Sarah White and her husband Billy of Comer, GA; Nephew, Billy Fleming and his wife Becky of Decatur, GA and several great nieces and nephews. She was the last member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Larry M. O'Barr and brothers, Makon and Denver Fleming; Nephew, Emerson Fleming and Niece, Jeannie Williams.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 3, 2009 at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. Rev. Joe Black, Rev. Billy Fleming and Rev. Jim Winn will officiate. Entombment will be in Nancy Hart Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 2973 Mt.
