Mrs. Martha Rogers Whitmire, 64, of 937 Center of the World Road, Canon, died January 3, 2012 at Landmark Hospital in Athens, GA.
Born on September 14, 1947 in Bishopville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Tillman Rogers and Carrie Brown Rogers.She was a homemaker and a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband: Ralph E. Whitmire; one son: Ed Whitmire, of Canon; one daughter: Melissa Whitmire of Gainesville, FL; one brother: David Rogers of Anderson, SC; one sister: Sarah Walls of Anderson, SC; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Isabelle Rogers.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Terry Meeks officiating.Burial will follow in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Thursday.The family is at the home.
