Mr. Marvin Lee Parsons, 93, of New Hope Road, Hartwell, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at his home.
Born on August 3, 1931 in Roane County, WV, he was the son of the late Ola Parsons and Annie Moore Parsons. Mr. Parsons was a machine operator for the Chrysler assembly plant in Paint Department. He was also a veteran of the US Army, and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his daughter: Ruth Ann Parsons of Royston; five grandchildren: Kris Greenway, Jason Greenway, Carl Gandee Jr, William Gandee, Michael Gandee; and ten great-grandchild: Raeanna Sires, Brooks Hobson, Brenda Hartnett, Cassie Gandee, Zachery Gandee, Mishell Jordan, Christie Wright, Summer Gandee, William Gandee, and Karen Gandee. Mr. Parsons is preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Sylvia Harper Parsons; his son: David Gandee and five sisters: Madaline Garnes, Lucille Mullinex, Imogene Garnes, Wiladean Garnes, and Rudith Rucker.
The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at their respective homes.
Funeral services for Mr. Marvin Parsons will be held on Monday, February 17, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Brewer officiating. Burial will be in the Milltown Baptist Church Cemetery.
The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
