Mrs. Mary Lou Fain Austin, 80, of Canon, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at her home.

Born on July 15, 1944 in Ellijay, GA, she was the daughter of the late James Andrew Fain and Ina Priest Fain. Mrs. Austin was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her two sons: Ron Austin of Hartwell and Chris Austin (Denise) of Cumming, GA; daughter: Rhonda Austin of Hartwell; eleven grandchildren: Jonathan Austin, Ashley Smith, Shelly Smith, Hudson Austin, Kaylee Austin, Cody Austin, Drew Austin, Allyson Austin, Caroline Austin, Joseph Austin, Hayden Austin; and five great-grandchildren: Evie Labarge, Jacob Harrison, Mason Austin, Liam Austin, and Hunter Beau Austin. Mrs. Austin is preceded in death by her parents and her husband: Larry Ronald Austin, Sr.

The family will receive friends Monday, August 26, 2024 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.  Other times the family will be at the home.

It was Mrs. Austin's wishes to be cremated and a service celebrating her life will be Monday, August 26, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Eric Buffington officiating.

The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
