Mrs. Mary Frances Brown Beard, 74, of Old 29 Hwy, Hartwell, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2016 at her home.

Born on August 5, 1942 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas W. Brown and Helen Byrum Brown.Mrs. Beard was a retired LPN from Hart County Hospital, Hartwell Health and Rehab and Brown Memorial Convalescent Center.She also was a member of the Hartwell Church of God and the Red Hat Society.

Survivors include her husband: Frank Beard; one son: Clifford Beard of Hartwell; one daughter: Annette Ross and her husband Frank of Hartwell; four grandchildren: Frankie, Will, Keith, Jessie; one great-grandchild: Logan and one sister: Joyce Myerholtz and her husband Jimmy of Canon. Mrs. Beard was preceded in death by her parents; and one son: William Richard Beard.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 1, 2016, at 3:00 p. m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with the Rev. Johnny Stowe and Mr. Fred Greenway officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.The family is at the home.
