Mary Ann (Murphy) Bobbitt, age 74, of Royston, passed away Friday, May 14, 2021 at her home.
Born October 8, 1946 in Carnesville, she was the daughter of the late J.C. and Sarah Lucille (Whitfield) Murphy. Before retirement she worked for Johnson & Johnson. Mrs. Bobbitt was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Gary Silas Bobbitt; and brothers Darby Murphy and J. P. Murphy.
She is survived by daughter: Christy Gillespie of Royston; son: Larry Gillespie of Cartersville; step sons and daughters-in-law: Keith & Dawn Bobbitt of Lavonia and Ricky & Sue Bobbitt of Westfield, NC; brother: Charles Murphy of Carnesville; sisters: Doris Wooten of Loganville, Sara Johnson of Buford, Evelyn Eavenson of Carnesville, Betty Eavenson of Royston and Linda Goebel of Raleigh, NC.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2021 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia with Rev. William Whitfield officiating. Entombment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The family will receive friend at the funeral home on Monday beginning at 1:00 p.m.
